Breathtaking & Unique
I flew into Treviso and then caught a bus to Venice. The excitement already builds as you progress through the Veneto, capturing sight of some of those tremendous houses. And then there is the turn. It almost catches you unaware, but be ready as the bus turns left to cross the Ponte della Libertà. This when the hairs on the back of your neck stand up as Venice appears and stretches before you. Moreover, arrive at the right time of day and the sunset across the lagoon is simply outstanding. And then you just want to walk and photograph and walk and photograph some more.
This is what I do every time I visit. I love Venice all the time but particularly in winter. It is quieter, and the weather more unpredictable - often sunny, but sometimes rain, mist and fog. The photographs here are my best of this fabulous place. There is also a separate collection of images from the Venice lagoon.
