SEVILLE
Fine Art Photography of Seville, SpainSeville is a city I seem to have been drawn back to for most of my life. As a child, family holidays often took us to southern Spain, and on one of those journeys in the late 1960s we stopped in Seville. Something about the city must have stayed with me, because I returned many times in the years that followed.
When I later had the opportunity to spend a year concentrating seriously on photography, Seville was the place I chose. It proved an extraordinary city in which to learn. Summer could bring intense heat and uncompromising light, creating deep shadows and bold architectural forms, while winter mornings could be cool, quiet and wonderfully soft. Then there were the long summer evenings, when the character of the city changed again.
These photographs grew out of that year and my many returns to Seville, exploring its architecture, gardens and streets through very different qualities of light.
